The Continental transformed a failing luxury brand into a hot sedan carrying\u00a0world leaders, industrial barons and the Hollywood elite.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"story-container\">\n<p>Now, Lincoln is seeking to recapture that vintage elegance in a classic sedan.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"story-container\">\n<p>A limited-edition 2019 Continental honors the custom luxury vehicle made for Edsel Ford in 1939. Years later, the company introduced the &#8217;61 Continental \u2014 famous for its\u00a0center-opening doors and a chrome-accented upper shoulder line.<\/p>\n<div class=\"story-container\">\n<p>Lincoln announced Monday that its dealers will start taking orders on Dec. 17 for just 80 of the special\u00a0Continentals, which will feature\u00a0a sill plate numbered like artwork. The price will be listed at &#8220;north of\u00a0$100,000,&#8221; officials said.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"story-container\">\n<p>Like the 1961 version, it will come with coach doors, known among car aficionados as \u201csuicide doors,\u201d which open from the center of the vehicle to allow rear-seat passengers to enter and exit gracefully.<\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-4108\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/lovepeacenslander.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/396FBA7A-A511-409E-B52B-B35EFCB3A6E5.jpeg?resize=533%2C400\" alt=\"\" width=\"533\" height=\"400\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/lovepeacenslander.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/396FBA7A-A511-409E-B52B-B35EFCB3A6E5.jpeg?resize=533%2C400&amp;ssl=1 533w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/lovepeacenslander.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/396FBA7A-A511-409E-B52B-B35EFCB3A6E5.jpeg?w=640&amp;ssl=1 640w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 533px) 100vw, 533px\" \/><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"artful-delights ad-1 \">\n<div class=\"amp-hidden\">\n<div class=\"story-container\">\n<p>Lincoln will debut the vehicle during a holiday party hosted by the car company at 1 Hotel Brooklyn Bridge on Monday.
