Gospel sensation Tamela Mann and husband, actor David Mann, are currently on their\u00a0Us Against the World<\/i>\u00a0tour, which also happens to be the name of their joint book and album together.<\/p>\n

In a new interview with\u00a0EURweb<\/a>, the Fort Worth, Texas natives discuss the inspiration behind the book while opening up about one of the most trying moments of their three-decade long marriage.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe book was inspired by our 30-year journey (of being married),\u201d David told the publication. \u201cWe\u2019ve been saying we were going to do the book for the last five years, since our 25th anniversary. But we just felt like this was the right time.\u201d<\/p>\n

David continued, \u201cWe just thought it would be good to share our journey and how we made it even in an industry that\u2019s known for divorce. The divorce rate in the entertainment industry is well over the standard (rate in the nation). We just wanted to share how we did it. One of the ways is, she\u2019s my priority and I\u2019m her priority.\u201d<\/p>\n

The couple\u2019s blended family consists of four children and a niece they\u2019ve been raising since the death of Tamela\u2019s sister. Two of their children were fathered by David outside of their relationship.<\/p>\n

While the \u201cTake Me to the King\u201d singer was supportive of David\u2019s first child, a second child that came along five years into their marriage almost broke the couple for good.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy career took off with Kirk Franklin and (the mother) came out of the woodwork that he had a daughter,\u201d\u00a0Tamela said. \u201cI felt like I accepted one child. I can\u2019t accept another child.\u201d
\n\"\"
\n\u201cI felt like I was alone. I felt like she was leaving me,\u201d David admits. \u201cShe was like, \u2018you got this baby mama to deal with and that baby mama to deal with,\u2019 and she was like, \u2018Where do I fit in? I\u2019m going to get lost.\u2019\u00a0I had to let her know, \u2018it\u2019s me and you against all of this stuff. So, it\u2019s you and me against the world.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

Mr. Mann\u2019s commitment to his wife, \u201cJust gave me confidence that he would take care of me,\u201d Tamela said. \u201cI didn\u2019t have to worry about being in the middle. It was us and then everybody else.\u201d<\/p>\n
