Frank Snyder, AKA Hollywood Play, was anything but Hollywood. A long time staple in the underground Hip-Hop scene and a contributor to his community, Hollywood Play will be remembered as one of the most ambitious indie artists seen in a long time.

For over a decade, Hollywood Play could be found in downtown Brooklyn, hustling his music CDs way before Instagram, Soundcloud and the internet became the prime tools of the underdog. He established his fan base hand to hand, facing rejection in person, not via unopened Email.
Of course, a few people would clown but eventually he earned the respect of many as a rapper, promoter, father, community man by way of his back to school give backs and budding activist. Recently, he discovered his son was showing signs of autism and began to use his platform to raise awareness.

Saturday, 10/6 his life was tragically cut short. While exiting one of his own events, Hollywood Play was gunned down in a drive-by shooting. No one else was injured and the motive is not yet known. What is known is that a community is left devastated and a child left fatherless.

His peers and even those who occupied higher levels of success have come out to express grief and support for his family. To show appreciation for his movement and dedication.
